Raw sugar is made from the juice of the sugarcane plant. Raw sugar has nutritional value because it has the same vitamin and mineral consistency as sugarcane plant juice.
Raw sugar has a brown color because of the presence of molasses, a by-product of refining sugarcane that contains a number of essential minerals and vitamins.
Description
Raw Sugar which is also called as “Sugar In Raw” is a new concept in India. During the process of refining sugar (Making Sugar white in colour) chemicals are added, like Sulfur/Lime Stone but Raw Cane Sugar is sugar cane-based, minimally refined sugar which is medium brown in colour.
It is called Raw because it does not go through the refining process, means “NO CHEMICAL TREATMENT” i.e. Sulfur & Lime Stone are added. It is not refined so it contains natural minerals i.e. Phosphorus,Calcium,Iron,Magnesium & Potassium.
